Proverbs 23

(Inspired by v1-5)

When you lunch with Partners & CEOs, carefully observe the food before you – and put the steak-knife to your throat if you lack self control…

Don’t long for steak at the Mitre Tavern nor tea in the Long Room nor liver with hedge fund managers at the Swiss Club. The foods all deceive.

It is pointless to break your own back for filthy lucre – grow up and be smart enough to stop. Like an old cat chasing a laser-pointer, you pounce on it and it disappears, flitting away towards the sky.

(Bonus verses 17 & 23…)

Don’t envy that cunning sod whose suit is Teflon-coated, whose wrongs are overlooked. Continue to fear only the Boss all day every day.

Short-sell lies. Buy truth and hold for the long term. Buy & hold wisdom and instruction and understanding.
