Of the two keyboards noted yesterday, one costs $5 and the other $0, so you can guess which I’m testing first…
TouchPal is a well-regarded alternative keyboard for iOS & Android that features two big improvements over both the stock iOS keyboard and iswipe from what I can see:
1. Curve:
Basically Swype but with the ability to auto-complete words mid-swipe.
2. Prediction:
Once you start typing, a list of likely-next-words hovers above the keyboard, allowing you to skip typing all together for common phrases.
So far, Curve is proving to be remarkably accurate as far as text entry goes. But after being burned by iswipe, I’m not yet willing to give it a tick of approval. We’ll see how it stands up to a week of use.
