Proverbs 19

Verses 17-23 in my own translation.

Being kind to the poor is like loaning God money. He never goes bankrupt and always pays you back.

Discipline your kids well while they are young, or you will watch them suffer when they are older and you can no longer fix things.

Men with anger management issues invariably suffer the consequences. Be careful if you bail him out – it won’t be the last time.

Discipline your own mind when you are young, and listen to wise counsel, so you can be wise when you are older.

You may think you’ve got it all figured out, but God’s plans are the ones that actually happen.

When looking for men, seek fidelity. It is better for you to be poor than known as a liar.

Above all, fear God, and sleep well at night.
