Psalm 28

To you, my king, I call – don’t ignore my cry lest I collapse in a heap.

Hear my pleas for mercy, when I cry for help and turn, with eyes cast down, toward your Son, my saviour.

Don’t lump me in with the baddies – they work toward evil while smiling & nodding their heads. Pay them back fairly, Lord – see to it that justice is served, because they don’t even consider you.

You are blessed, Lord! I know you have heard my cries for help – your spirit intercedes for me!

You are my strength & shield!

When I read your word, my heart is made strong. When I trust you, your spirit ministers to my tiredness. When I remember your goodness & power, my heart sings.

You are the strength of your people, and your son our saving refuge. Save your people and bless your heritage!

Be my shepherd and carry me forever.
