Ten Albums

Generally, I make a practice of ignoring Facebook challenges. I’m not entirely sure why – perhaps they remind me too much of the old-skool chain-emails doing the rounds in the late ’90s…

“… FORWARD THIS TO 11 FRIENDS OR YOU WILL HAVE BAD LUCK AND NOBODY WILL BE ATTRACTED TO YOU FOR 11 YEARS!”

But a recent one caught my attention and caused me to think more about why I like the music I like. It coincides with a friend named Mardi recommending the excellent “Strong Songs” podcast, where host Kirk Hamilton regularly encourages active listening to songs – then lovingly picks apart some superb examples, analysing what makes them so good.

Anyway, another friend named Marty tagged me in the “Ten Albums in Ten Days challenge”, and I figured I’d give it a shot over here.
