Ten Albums (#1)

When I started out at university, having moved with my family from country Victoria, I knew very few people, and had very limited musical appreciation outside of classical music or mid-90s pop on the one radio station (3TR). I was encouraged to meet up with some “nice people” from the Christian Union there, and dutifully did so.

In short order, I had a bunch of great friends, and was introduced to an album whose musicality and lyrics showed me that Christian music wasn’t always cringey, and in fact “pop” music wasn’t always shallow.

Jars Of Clay - Jars Of Clay

Jars Of Clay’s debut album has no filler songs. Every one expressed for me in some way emotions associated with the first years of university, and still hold up over two decades later.
