A\u00a0shiggaion<\/em>\u00a0of Walter, which he sang to the LORD concerning recent distressing correspondence<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

LORD my God, I take refuge in you;
\nsave and deliver me from all who pursue me,
\nor their words will tear me apart like a lion
\nand rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.<\/p>\n

LORD my God, if I have done this
\nand there is guilt on my hands\u2014\u00a0
\nif I have repaid my friends with evil
\nor without cause have robbed my fellow-worker \u2014
\nthen let my enemy pursue and overtake me;
\nlet him trample my life to the ground
\nand make me sleep in the dust.<\/p>\n

Arise, LORD, in your anger;
\nrise up against the rage of those who malign my family.
\nAwake, my God; decree justice.
\nLet the assembled peoples gather around you,
\nwhile you sit enthroned over them on high.
\nLet the LORD judge the peoples.
\nVindicate me, LORD, according to your Son’s righteousness,
\naccording to His integrity, O Most High.
\nBring to an end the violence of the wicked
\nand make the righteous secure\u2014
\nyou, the righteous God
\nwho probes minds and hearts.<\/p>\n

My shield\u00a0is God Most High,
\nwho saves the upright in heart.
\nGod is a righteous judge,
\na God who displays his wrath every day.
\nIf he does not relent,
\nhe\u00a0will sharpen his sword;
\nhe will bend and string his bow.
\nHe has prepared his deadly weapons;
\nhe makes ready his flaming arrows.<\/p>\n

Whoever is pregnant with evil
\nconceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment.
\nWhoever digs a hole and scoops it out
\nfalls into the pit they have made.
\nThe trouble they cause recoils on them;
\ntheir violence comes down on their own heads.<\/p>\n

I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness;
\nI will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High to all who read this blog.<\/p>\n
